Providing mobility equipment for disabled children and young people

Update 13 May 2024

Our waiting list for new applications is currently closed.  We will review the position in mid July  and hopefully reopen around that time. We apologise for any inconvenience.

AFK provides mobility equipment not available on the NHS, such as bespoke powered wheelchairs, specialised trikes and walkers, to disabled children and young people up to age 25.

Who can apply?

The right piece of equipment can mean the difference between playing outside with friends or watching from the sidelines; between working and going to college or relying on others for everything. It can help with pain management, muscle strength and independence.

For over 30 years we have been committed to providing those pieces of equipment which cannot easily be obtained elsewhere.

Our team will accept applications from or on behalf of anyone up to the age of 25 who cannot get the mobility equipment they need on the NHS.
